African American oral history project
The African American oral history project (1971-1973) contains interviews with people who resided in Utah during the Depression and World War II era. Those interviewed discuss their experience being African American in Utah during this time. Items discussed include difficulty finding housing and jobs as well as discrimination in public areas and from neighbors. Audio is also available for the interviews.
American West Center Research Projects photograph collection
Eastablished in 1964, the American West Center supports research into the history, people, and culture of the American West. This collection contains 24 black-and-white negatives of Zuni pottery shards used in land claim cases by the Zuni against the United States government.
Carbon County oral history project
The Carbon County oral history project (1972-1993) consist of oral histories from residents of Carbon County, Utah. While the main emphasis is on living in coal mine country, the interviews are verbal snapshots of rural Utah life from the earliest settlers to as recently as 1993. Interviews begin with a short biography of the subject and cover topics such as discrimination, labor unions and social events.
