Abstract The Topaz oral history project collection interviews (1987-1993) were conducted by Sandra Taylor, of the University of Utah's Department of History. The interviews were part of her research for Jewel of the desert: Japanese American internment at Topaz (1993). Also included are correspondence, news clippings, published and unpublished articles, and research files.

Abstract The David Hisato and Tamaki Tsubokura Yamate papers (1942-1968) contain correspondence, business and personal documents, photographs and other miscellaneous materials. The correspondence relate to the life of the Yamates inside and outside of the Central Utah Relocation Center, Topaz, Utah. The documents concern the actions taken by the War Relocation Authority in regards to the relocation of David Yamate and his family.

Frank K. Yoshimura papers

Abstract Frank Yoshimura has been active in the Mount Olympus Japanese American Citizens League. He was involved in getting a monument placed at the site of the Topaz relocation center. This collection contains correspondence, news clippings, maps, brochures, interviews, and articles. Also included is a booklet prepared in honor of the 100th birthday of Charles Kawakami.
