Abstract The Alfred Cumming papers (1857-1865) consist of a microfilm copy of personal and official correspondence and a letterpress book relating to Cumming's service as Governor of Utah Territory, 1858-1861. Includes letters from Thomas L. Kane, Brigham Young, and his wife, Elizabeth Cumming; Cumming's personal record of those fleeing east from Utah while wintering with the Utah Expedition at Camp Scott, Wyoming; scrapbooks of national clippings from Cumming's term of office.
