The Oliver Cowdrey correspondence [photocopies and typecripts] consist of forty-six letters written by Cowdrey, during 1833-1838, for himself or for others. Oliver Cowdrey (1806-1850) was one of six original members of the Church of Christ, later called the Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a scribe to Joseph Smith.

The Orson Hyde biography (1834 and circa 1939) was written by his son, Joseph S. Hyde, and also includes a copy of a letter from Orson Hyde to a Professor J. Seixas.

The Bruce A. Van Orden papers (1981-1993) consist mainly of articles by Van Orden on subjects such as W.W. Phelps, celestial marriage, Brigham Young, hymns, Joseph Smith Jr., and scripture. Family history records and other personal information are also included.
