Abstract The Karl A. Fox autobiography (1917-1941) includes notes on his early life and his family background. Fox was born and grew up in Salt Lake City, attended and graduated from the University of Utah in 1937 with a degree in English, attended UC Berkley and Columbia for graduate school in Economics, and continued on with a career in applied econometrics.
