Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Humanists of Utah records (1946-1996) consist of documentation pertaining to the process of running a chapter of the national society, The Humanists. The collection includes correspondence relating to the Utah chapter, as well as society minutes, statements of purpose and the national newsletter. The society's intent is to provide an alternative spiritual and educational forum for cultures dominated by religion. Its focus is on evolution and science as the basis for life, and rejects theism as archaic and outmoded.
