Scope and Contents
Related to Avard Farbanks's creation of a portrait bust of Alice Paul for the Belmont-Paul Women's Equality National Monument. Includes correspondence between Fairbanks and others; memos and documents relating to his application to do the sculpture; a historical sketch of the process of a committee's deciding who should do the sculpture; a citation by the American Mothers Committee in appreciation of his work; a program from the 1981 national convention of the American Woman's Party that featured an illustration of the Alice Paul bust; and a 3-page document from the Library of Congress American Memory Project with an article about Alice Paul.
