From the Collection: The American Mining Company Records (1896-1925) comprise a bound, handwritten journal with the title: "Minute Book, American Mining Co, Salt Lake City, U, from March 31, 1896 to " (the final entry in this journal was in October 1925) and three canceled stock certificates that were first issued in 1902. The minute book records the minutes of the annual meeting of stockholders and minutes of meetings of the board of directors. It begins with the organization of the company on March 31, 1896. In later years, handwritten minutes were supplemented with typed and printed items pasted into the book, such as meeting notices and notices of assessment of shares, proxies, and delinquent notices. The final item in the journal is a typed copy of the minutes of a special meeting of stockholders on June 17, 1925, where approval was given to sell all of the property and assets of the American Mining Company to F. A. Flindt for $20,000.
