Scrapbook, 1950-1969

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 7-11

Scope and Contents

These folders focus on Engen's development as a ski coach and businessman. There is information on Engen's 1950 move to Snow Basin, Utah, to co-manage the ski area with his brother, Sverre. In 1952 he returned to McCall, Idaho, and gained notoriety as a junior ski coach by developing several United States Olympic skiers. In other areas of business, Engen became the owner of a Shell Oil Distributorship in McCall and formed a business partnership with J. R. Simplot and Warren Brown to develop Brundage Mountain in McCall into a ski resort.
