Correspondence and Reports, 1913-1939
Series
Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
The Bureau of Indian Affairs records (1880-1964) contain photocopies of supercessions and additions to the Bureau of Indian Affairs manual. Many of those documents deal with the Native American Urban Relocation Program. The program provided monetary assistance to Native Indians wanting to either move onto or leave a reservation. The supercessions and additions to the manual were the result of federal legislation to cut or supplement the Bureau of Indian Affairs budget. Also included are photocopies of correspondence and reports from various tribal agencies, including Paiute, Kaibab, Goshute, Shivwits, Panguitch, Uintah, and Ouray.
