Anasazi Field Trip, 1981

 File — Box: 27, Folder: 1

Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Utah Westerners records (1967-2009) includes the organization's bylaws and constitution, a calendar of events, lecture transcripts, correspondence, membership rosters, meeting minutes, field trip itineraries, completed questionnaires, membership applications, speech transcripts, and other documents. This collection also contains files kept by the Utah Westerners for two other organizations: the Fort Douglas Museum Association and Westerner's International. The Utah Westerners was organized in 1967, holding its first meeting in December of that year. The major events of this all-male club are monthly lectures and annual field trips. These lectures and field trips allow club members to increase their knowledge of Western American history by addressing topics such as early Utah politics, Native Americans and westward expansion, Mormonism in the nineteenth century, and transportation, colonization, exploration, and communication in the West. The Utah Westerners holds its monthly lectures at the Alta Club in Salt Lake City.
