Personal Correspondence, Nutter Family, 1918-1963

 Sub-Series
Identifier: II

Scope and Contents

Box 10 contains correspondence among the immediate family of Preston and Katherine Nutter and their daughters Catharine and Virginia. Letters written before 1940 deal mostly with day to day events. From 1940 until 1963, letters written by both Catharine and Virginia become much more detailed. Those written by Virginia to her mother and sister after 1953 (Virginia often made carbon copies of the same letter) are especially informative... about the day to day operations of the ranch. Unfortunately, Virginia seldom dated her letters, and so no accurate chronology can be established. Insofar as possible, all letters are arranged chronologically. See more
