Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Richard S. Van Wagoner Papers (1797-2008) consist of manuscripts, correspondence, and an assortment of printed materials. Forty-seven boxes pertain to Van Wagoner's research files which he divided into two categories, viz., "People" and "Subjects." The "People" files contain information concerning the individual noted on the folder and include copies of papers, articles, and books which the person wrote. The "Subjects" files contain copies of published materials which relate to the designated topic. Of particular note are boxes 15-17 which house Van Wagoner's unpublished 2008 manuscript entitled "Joseph Smith, Seer: The Early Years of America's Prophet, 1805-1831."
