Scope and Contents
The material in this section consists of items directly related to David Evans' activities outside of Evans & Sutherland, as well as items concerned with Evans' role as CEO of Evans & Sutherland. Boxes 1 and 2 hold correspondence addressed to and from Evans concerned with subject matters outside of Evans & Sutherland business relations. Boxes 3 and 4 contain materials connected with Evans' role in a variety of community organizations of a non-profit nature, including the Mayo clinic, for which Evans served on the National Advisory Committee. Box 5 includes items relating to Evans' years as a professor at the University of Utah, as well as texts and related items for speeches given by Evans over the years. Box 6 contains biographical descriptions of Evans, as well as items relating to awards, the Evans family, and personal miscellaneous. Box 7 holds Evans' appointment calendars for 1964-1984. Academic papers written by Evans are located in box 134, and other items relating to the University of Utah are in box 140.

Twenty-four hour advanced notice encouraged. Materials must be used on-site. Access to parts of this collection may be restricted under provisions of state or federal law.
One original letter has been removed and placed in Reserve. A photocopied version is available in the collection for access purposes. Access to the original must be given by the Manuscripts Curator and by appointment. An archivist must remain with the item if being used.
