Scope and Contents

This section, boxes 164 through 185, contains materials (1967-1993) regarding interaction between the Speech Communication Association and national and international professional organizations. The organizations are all connected with communication and/or education. They also include organizations that sponsored programs connected with communication and/or education. The materials are arranged in alphabetical order by organization name, and include advertising materials, correspondence, mailings, pamphlets, publications, and publicity. Oversize materials, such as newsletters and publicity posters, are in box 185. Photocopies of these items have been made and kept in their original locations. Materials of speech and communication associations that had contact with the SCA are located in boxes 164 and 165. The materials include announcements, by-laws and constitutions of the associations, conference and convention materials, correspondence, membership applications and information, newsletters, and other publications. Information on the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development from 1981-1992 can be found in boxes 169 to 172. The SCA had extensive contacts with this organization and the materials found in these boxes document that contact. The materials include convention and meeting materials, correspondence, drafts of a book chapter, papers, and publications, newsletters, press releases, publicity, and Urban Middle Grade Network information.
