The John Peperakis papers (1913-1990) contains correspondence, research papers, clippings, maps and sketches of mines and mining methods. Maps cover nearly all of Utah and portions of other Rocky Mountain states with the bulk concerning Carbon County, Utah, and the Kaiparowits Mining Project. Detailed drawings and reports cover the longwall method of coal mining which set a world record for tonnage mined in one day.
