Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Walter R. Jones papers (1920-2013) consist of correspondence, military reports, pamphlets, meetings minutes, training guides, handbooks, manuscripts, conference papers, research materials, short stories, articles, and bibliographical information . Boxes 1-4 contain personal and military-related correspondence from 1989 to 1995. Jones' personal papers can be found in box 5 and include a military vitae. Boxes 6-9 contain documents on military conferences and staff meetings from 1989 to 1992. Military promotional material, military intelligence battalion rosters, and rosters from the 144th hospital, 1987 to 1995, can be found in boxes 10-13. Boxes 14-17 contain training documents, awards, and activation information from 1984 to 1995. Drill notes, agendas, workshop lists, military training guides, and study materials can be found in boxes 18-21. Boxes 22-23 contain military pamphlets from 1986 to 1990, and annual reports and publications, from 1991 to 1994. Documents related to the 144th Evacuation Hospital from 1992 to 1995 are in box 24 and include drill notes, pamphlets, and newsletters. A writing by Jones about Almy, Wyoming, and military and non-military publications are located in boxes 25-27 and 35. Boxes 28-31 contain master's thesis drafts from 1985 to 1986 and boxes 32-33 contain drafts of, also written by Jones. Information about the army writing program and other military and miscellaneous documents can be found in boxes 34 and 36-37.
