Scope and Contents
Three newspaper columns written in 1926 fill this scrapbook: "The Glory of America," and "Great Empires of the World," each written by C. N. Lund, and "The Service of Science" by BYU professors, F. S. Harris and N. I. Butt of Brigham Young University. "The Glory of America" talks about American history, from Christopher Columbus to the First World War. "Great Empires of the World" was a column that discussed ancient empires such as Rome, Assyria, Egypt, and Babylonia. "The Service of Science" are articles about scientific advancements through history. It covers a wide spectrum of topics such as diseases, insects, inventions, and advancements made in mining. In the back of the scrapbook are articles about Philo Farnsworth, the inventor of the television, written in 1948.
