Dionne Quintuplets Scrapbook, 1934-1953
File — Box: 7, Volume: 1
Scope and Contents
This is a scrapbook entirely about the famous Dionne quintuplets born in Canada in 1934. They were the first recorded quintuplets to survive birth and as a result, they became instantly famous. Almost directly after birth, the five girls were taken away from their parents and were sent to live in a nursery and hospital built specifically for them, courtesy of the Canadian government. There, they were raised by a team of nurses and the celebrated Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe. Thousands of tourists came to see the 'quints' each week, and newspapers all over the world documented every moment of the Dionne quintuplets lives. This scrapbook follows the quintuplets from birth until their nineteenth birthday.
