Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
The Kevin G. Barnhurst papers (1968-2001) contain correspondence associated with the publication of and subscription information related to the New Messenger and Adcocate, Sunstone, and Dialogue. Some other contents include various letters from Carl Arrington, son of the former LDS historian Leonard J. Arrington (1917-1999) and "A Brief History of the Demise of The New Messenger and Advocate," an essay by Merwin G. Fairbanks. The papers also contain personal materials including journal entries, essays, poetry, a novel entitled Ziontales, and various drafts, publications and correspondences. Furthermore, the papers contain original art created by Dr. Barnhurst for the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP), and pamphlets for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, New York (GLAAD NY).
