Typescript pages with autobiographical information by John M. Whitaker. Includes text describing John M. Whitaker’s activities during his mission in the eastern United States from October 1898 to February 1899, including debates with members of the “Josephite” (Reorganized LDS) Church in October 1898; travels in the area of Providence, Rhode Island; Worcester, Massachusetts; writing articles and letters for newspapers in November; witnessing a gathering of Methodists at Boston in January 1899, including a speech by Booker T. Washington; mission work in Lynn, Mass., and in Biddeford and Saco, Maine.

Twenty-four hour advanced notice encouraged. Materials must be used on-site. Access to parts of this collection may be restricted under provisions of state or federal law.

Some original items have been removed and placed in Reserve. Access must be given by the Manuscripts Curator and by appointment. An archivist must remain with the items if being used. Photocopies are available in the collection for research use.
