Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Hamilton, Nevada Masonic Lodge and the Ely, Nevada Knights Templar records consist of records from both the White Pine Masonic Lodge in Hamilton, Nevada and the Ely Commandery No. 6 Knights Templar. White Pine Lodge remained operational from 1870-1879. Boxes 1-2 contain 3 ledgers that survived the fire in 1873 that destroyed much of Hamilton, Nevada. When the lodge in Hamilton discontinued its charter, many of the relics and remaining members joined the Ely Commandery in Ely, Nevada. Today, White Pine Lodge with the rest of Hamilton Nevada is a ghost town. Records pertaining to the Ely Lodge materials span from the 1920s-1967.

The records consists of meeting logs, visitor logs, membership records, correspondence, invoices, treasury receipts and deposits, bank records, materials from the Grand Commandery of Royal Arch Masons of Nevada, and materials from the Grand Encampment of the Knights Templar of the United States of America. Records pertaining to the White Pine Lodge range from 1871-1880. Records of the Ely Commandery No. 6 Knights Templar range from the 1920s-1967.
