Not Queer as in Radical, but Lesbian as in Fuck You! Revised Edition, rachel, 2015
File — Box: 4, Folder: 30
Identifier: I
Scope and Contents
First released in February 2011, this perzine explored the author's decision at that time to use the word “lesbian” as a substitute for “queer.” This personal decision was tied to male domination and sex-right in supposedly “sex positive” queer spaces as well as the perpetuation of misogynistic tropes and devaluation of lesbian identities within ostensibly progressive and feminist communities. This revised version is split into two sections, the original essay and Yr Pinkwashing is Showing which provides further context about when and why the first edition was written.
