Maeser's visit to northern Utah stakes to enroll new students at the school; efforts by Cache valley businessmen to maintain control of the Logan and Smithfield Canal Company; activities of the general authorities and persecution by federal authorities; political activities of the People's Party; the publication of The Great Contest, a pro-Mormon pamphlet (See Bx 3A, Folder 19-20); and the acquisition of lumber for construction of the Salt Lake Temple.
