The next portion covers McMurrin's work with the Committee for Economic Development.

The Committee for Economic Development is an independent, nonpartisan organization of the business and education elite, founded at the end of World War II, and is involved in research on public policy regarding international trade, foreign investment, and domestic employment.

McMurrin assisted CED on various committees relating to education, and the belabored drafts of their recommendation statements are included.
