- 6: "Upon entering Havasu Canyon the Green vegetation and red canyon walls are in striking contrast to the arid plateau above. In the inner canyon the red rock walls are know as the Supai Formation. The outer rim or Grand Canyon Formation is made up of Kaibab Limestone, Coconino Sandstone, and Hermit Shale. On the upper or Grand Canyon rim in the distance the Indians catch wild horses.
