Grand Canyon Mules, March 1973
File — Box: 1, Folder: 8
Scope and Contents
- 1: "Fred Harvey's sure-footed mules take Grand Canyon visitors up and down safe government-built inner Canyon trails. There's no better way to see the Canyon than from this inside vantage point. Six of the seven climatic belts of the world, represented in the Canyon region, are experienced by riders as they descend on the inner Canyon trails to the floor of the Canyon." [Fred Harvey Public Relations]
- 2: "These well-schooled mules take tenderfoots down safe, government-built trails from the South Rim to the floor of Grand Canyon. Fred Harvey's sure-footed mules are trained to take care of their riders. Because of the difference in altitude, mule and rider may pass from winter snow on the rim to desert temperatures in the Canyon below. Facilities on the South Rim of Grand Canyon are open all year around, and winter or early spring are ideal seasons for a trip to the Canyon." [Fred Harvey Public Relations]
- 3: Mule wrangler in corral. March 1973. [Ted Needham Photography] {**}
- 4: "Down at the bottom of the canyon the suspension bridge connects the Kaibab Trail to the north side of the Canyon. The river now appears to be very real as compared to the thin ribbon winding thruogh the canyon at the outset." March 1973. [Fred Harvey Public Relations] {**}
