Scope and Contents

A teenage boy with a paper due the next day on the French revolution struggles to begin his paper and finds himself constantly distracted with the need for a 7UP, to wash his face, to stretch, and even clean his bathroom similar to that of someone with Attention Deficit Disorder. When he begins to tap the top of his soda pop can, he becomes absorbed with rhythm and begins to set all of the various empty soda pop cans in a row on his desk for a "trash symphony" of sorts only to delete most of the one sentence he'd written for his paper when puts the cans aside. Returning to his book for a moment, he then begins to build a tower out of the cans only to fall asleep at his computer and dream about getting his paper back in class with an F- and the comment "You'll never get into College!" Waking from his dream with that fear, he writes the paper and goes to leave his desk for bed when his foot snags on the power cord and unplugs the computer.
