Scope and Contents
Travelling with a Smithsonian Institution anthropologist, we profile a never before studied tribe: the Korowai. They inhabit the rain forests of Irian Jaya on the Indonesian side of the island of New Guinea. They live in tree houses 15 meters above the ground and practive a form of ritual cannibalism based on their criminal justive system. Produced and Directed by: Judith Hallet. Recieved the CINE Golden Eagle at the 1995 CINE Film and Video Festival, recieved the Outstanding Documentary award at the CINE festival, recieved the Gold Award at the Houston International Film and Video Festival, revieved the Best of Festival award at the Jules Verne Film Festival in France, and recieved the Bronze Apple from the National Educational Media Network. The film was screened at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, at the Environmental Film Festival in Washington D.C., at the College of the Atlantic in Maine, and at George Washingto University.
