Scope and Contents
Carter (b. 1924) enlisted in the Army Air Corps in November 1943. He trained as a ball turret gunner in a B-17. His crew were shipped to England on the Queen Mary and attached to the 92nd Bomb Wing. Carter flew 25 missions over Germany before being rotated back to the United States, where he trained new crews at various bases.
