Scope and Contents
Kemp (b. 1923) describes growing up in Salt Lake City and working for Remington Arms. He was drafted into the army, where his duties included harvesting crops in North Dakota in the fall of 1943. He was assigned to the 817th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Kemp talks about combat, contact with indigenous populations, and meeting the Russiona. He also describes serving as a bodyguard for Count Von Luckner and his wife during the occupation.
