Scope and Contents
Byers (b. 1921) was born in Tyrone, New Mexico. He joinged the National Guard in 1938 and was assigned to the Fort Bliss Army Depot in Texax (2nd Battalion, G Battery. Sent to the Philippines in September 1941, Byers was part of the U. S. surrender in April 1942. He was sent on the Death March to O'Donnel prison camp and was a POW until liberated at the end of the war. Interviewed by Becky Lloyd.
