Scope and Contents
Yates (b. 1916) lived in the Utah town of Benmore. He discusses the Depression, schooling, and working on the railroad. He attended an aircraft mechanics course in Logan, Utah, and worked at Hill Field. He joined the Army Air Corps and received basic training in Stockton, California. He was eventually transferred to Dover Air Base in Delaware, repairing planes for approximately three years. After being discharged in December 1945, Yates worked at the Tooele Army Depot as a mechanic for 31 years. Interviewed by Becky B. Lloyd.
