Scope and Contents

From the Collection: Stanley Lyman served as a federal superintendent at various Indian reservations for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. His photographs are of the American Indian Movement (AIM) takeover and ultimate surrender at Wounded Knee, South Dakota in 1973, and also of the Abourezsk hearings in 1973. The Abourzsk photos were taken at the hearing by Martin E. Lyman.
