Scope and Contents

  1. Photograph number 1: Quayle House, now headquarters of Utah Heritage Foundation, just after placement on Quince Street and before renovation.
  2. Photograph number 2: Known as Platt's House built in about 1850s? One of the oldest houses in Salt Lake City. This picture was taken before historic preservation. The house is now on the Historic Register. The Platt's House is typical of the Capitol Hill area before the historic preservation movement swept through the area.
  3. Photograph number 3: Capitol Hill, Salt Lake City, Utah in mid 1970s. It was a slum before the historic preservation of homes became fashionable.
  4. Photograph number 4: Slum conditions on Capitol Hill before the historic preservation movement, circa 1975.
