Scope and Contents

  1. Photograph number 1: The Germania Hut, built in 1949 by Jim Shane and Harold Goodro, was torn down in the 1960s.
  2. Photograph number 2: The Albion Hut, built in 1948, still remains at the top of Alta's Supreme lift in Albion Basin.
  3. Photograph number 3: The Snake Creek Hut, built during the summer of 1949 by Jim Shane and Harold Goodro.
  4. Photograph number 4-5: Jim Shane and Harold Goodro, both legends in snow safety, mountain rescue, and ski patrol operation for many years. They were a powerful "team" and made many significant contributions to Utah ski history, one of which was building the ski huts at Alta and Brighton in the late 1940s.
