Scope and Contents

  1. Photograph number 1: Montage put together of Alf Engen and others jumping at Ecker Hill.
  2. Photograph number 2: Painting by Anton Rasmussen and commissioned by Jalynn Rasmussen Prince in 2001 for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Paramount in the painting are the three Rasmussen brothers who played an instrumental role in the development of ski jumping in the intermountain area in the 1930s. Other key elements highlighted include the Well Come Inn, the large billboard sign which featured the world records set by Alf Engen, cross-country skiing in the 1930s, and the Norwegian Viking influence which propelled Utah ski jumping into the national and international spotlight during the 1930s.
  3. Photograph number 3: Ecker Hill medallion which was given to Alan and Barbara Engen at the Ecker Hill monument dedication held on September 1, 2001.
  4. Photograph number 4: The first Mt. Olympus Ski Club tournament flyer. Tournament was held at Ecker Hill on January 20, 1935.
  5. Photograph number 5: Photocopy of the document attesting to Ecker Hill's placement on the National Register of Historical Places because of the role it played in bringing world wide attention to Utah during the 1930s and 1940s.
