The Thorn L. Mayes, Jr. photograph collection contains 603 black-and-white photographs and postcards depicting the American Locomotive Company, Baldwin Locomotive Works, Lima Locomotive Works, Inc, including train models and railroad photographs, dating mostly from approximately 1900 to 1910. The collection also contains color slides of nature photography depicting national parks, state parks, and rivers in Utah and the American southwest, including Arches, Monument Valley, and Canyonlands; these date from approximately 1950 to 1968.
