 File — Box: 1, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Life in the Civilian Conservation Corps photograph album collection consists of 1 box containing 1 photograph album depicting the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) between 1935 and 1940. The finding aid lists items in two "folders," but all photographs are contained within the album and "folders" were created for the purpose of photograph numbering; the original order of the photographs in the album has been maintained. There are several pages where photographs were removed or fell out of mountings prior to donation. "Clinton, Ind." is handwritten on the front of the album. The album was compiled by an unidentified indivudal or individuals, though many of the people depicted in the images are identified in captions.

Places depicted in the album are CCC camp DG-28 at Clover Creek, Utah; Grantsville, Utah; Tooele, Utah; and places in their vicinity, including the Stansbury and Onaqui Mountains. While most of the album depicts Utah, it also contains photographs of the CCC Camp Clinton located in Wilmington, Ohio. Subjects include animals such as horses, dogs, and sheep; CCC culvert projects; leisure activities such as softball; and buildings and machinery at the camps and in surrounding towns. The album also contains postcards. Most are commercial color postcards; this section of the album also contains 2 black-and-white postcard photographs of the CCC camp at Henryville, Indiana.
