Scope and Contents

From the Series: The 826 photographs in these boxes are divided into two sections. The first, boxes 31 and 32, are proof photos with accompanying negatives taken by Crampton. The photographs are arranged alphabetically by subject and identified by three characters, the first (ZU) indicating Zuni, the second (1-18) being the subject number, with the third indicating the number of photograph within the subject. Box 33 contains photos of the Zuni region and people taken by various photographers from the 1860s to the 1970s. These photographs, mostly 5x7 or 8xl0 copies, are not accompanied by negatives (except for a portion taken by Crampton) and are arranged alphabetically by photographer. They are identified by the names of the folders in which they are filed.
