Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Eleanor C. W. Jarvis diary [typescript] (1936) describes her family life in Utah's Dixie area between the years 1854-1923. She describes learning to spin wool and cotton, the work surrounding building the St. George temple, the trials of her family during periods of the underground movement, her husband's mission call to England, and family visits, among other topics. This diary transcript was completed in 1937 by Lorin B. Spendlove of the Works Progress Administration, Historical Records Survey.
