File — Box: 1, Folder: 1
Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
This collection contains a forty-seven page transcript of Wilson H. Dusenberry's diary. The diary begins on 1 January 1864, and continues with daily entries until 30 September 1864 when the diary was lost. The diary was later returned by mail and resumes on 30 December 1866, with important entries filled in from memory; these entries include events such as Dusenberry's marriage to Harriet V. Coray, the birth of a son, and the continued growth and activity of Dusenberry's schools. Dusenberry was twenty-three years old when he began the diary and though much of the diary is concerned with parties and dances of the youth of Provo in 1864, Dusenberry records some interesting information about his schools, and entertainment in Provo and surrounding towns.
