Scope and Contents

  • P0932n019_01_01 : A huge number of downtown construction projects began in the years leading up to the Olympics. Anything that remained unfinished was then hidden behind cargo containers.
  • P0932n019_01_02 : A huge number of downtown construction projects began in the years leading up to the Olympics. Anything that remained unfinished was then hidden behind cargo containers.
  • P0932n019_01_03 : One of the stranger things I’ve seen was a city bus headed west whose sign read St. Louis, followed by several buses bound for Washington D.C. The length of the bus routes didn’t surprise me so much as the fact that these buses were headed in the wrong direction. Here we see a bus headed for DC via Second South.
  • P0932n019_01_04 : US trained Kamikaze bus drivers posed no threat to the ZCMI mall. I’ve heard rumors that there is a Federal building on the opposite corner, but I wasn’t able to take any pictures.
  • P0932n019_01_05 : The 6th North overpass offers an excellent view of downtown. Most photographers discovered this spot the day after the Opening Ceremonies, but here we see a couple stragglers.
  • P0932n019_01_06 : Terrorist attacks are bad, but can’t match the sheer horror of an international sporting event. Now we know why the Red Cross collected so much extra blood after 9-11.
  • P0932n019_01_07 : 250 South 300 West: The block containing the downtown post office.
  • P0932n019_01_08 : 250 South 300 West: The block containing the downtown post office.
  • P0932n019_01_09 : Roads started returning to normal a few hours after Closing Ceremonies.
  • P0932n019_01_10 : Roads started returning to normal a few hours after Closing Ceremonies.
  • P0932n019_01_11 : Merchandise remained available for weeks.
