Mr. Marriott's original listing of these files can be found in box 102. Included are documents regarding various clubs and organizations such as the American Motors Corporation, research materials and notes on religious subjects and topics of interest to Mr. Marriott, hobbies, speeches delivered by Mr. Marriott, correspondence files between Mr. Marriott and friends, Book of Mormon archaeology, Book of Mormon placement in Marriott hotels, Mr. Marriott's affiliation with various universities, the United States Military Chaplaincy and Mormon chaplains, building and dedication of the Washington, D.C. Mormon Temple, and general information on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). This material mainly reflects Mr. Marriott's private interests, his friends, subjects of interest to Mr. Marriott, and materials researched for sermons. Corresponding materials may be found in the correspondence, corporate, and political sections of the collection.
