Inaugural Files: Publicity
Sub-Series
Scope and Contents
From the Series:
The political records reflect the Marriotts' involvement with presidential inaugurations from the 1950s to the 1970s, their activities in National Republican Party politics, and friendships and associations with prominent government officials. The files document the Marriotts' service in various capacities for the Nixon and Eisenhower inaugurations, and their involvement with the National Republican Committee and Conventions. These papers reflect the personal and professional nature of their activities. Materials include reports, correspondence, invitations, tickets, legal documents, events planning information, and general committee files. The files are arranged chronologically by inauguration, convention, or committee. The inaugural files, where possible, are organized as shown on each inaugural organizational chart. Thus, box and folder listings for each inauguration may differ slightly. It may be helpful to refer to the organizational charts before perusing inaugural files.
