Scope and Contents

The Peter McIntyre autobiography (1790-1872) contains information about McIntyre, a soldier, pioneer, and preacher from Scotland. The autobiography tells of his participation in the Napoleonic War, his introduction to and joining of the LDS Church, and his immigration to Utah in 1853. Also included is a one-page story by his daughter of McIntyre's death in 1872. The autobiography is a photocopy.

Biographical Sketch

Peter McIntyre was born in Glen Curr or Succoth, Scotland, on 17 March 1790. He joined the militia at eighteen years of age. He married Agnes Cole in 1818, but she died twenty years later. He married Margaret Baxter in 1840 and they both converted to the LDS faith. Peter McIntyre died in 1872.
