Scope and Contents

The John Johnson Davies autobiography consist of a typescript copy of his autobiographical sketch. Davies was born on 28 December 1831 in South Wales. The first years of his life were spent in extreme poverty. He converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and emigrated to America, where he made his way to the Salt Lake Valley.

The John Johnson Davies autobiography consist of a typescript copy of Davies' autobiographical sketch. Davies was a Welsh emigrant to Utah in 1854 by way of New Orleans, earning a living by weaving. He resided in Sanpete Valley and Kanarraville, Utah.
