The Keith Smith papers (1903-1968) consist primarily of record books from the general store owned by Keith Smith (b. 1878) in Linwood, Utah, during the early 1900s. The primary activity of this store was to "carry on and conduct the business of a ranch, farming and live-stock raising." Also included in the collection is a volume entitled "Recollections of Keith Smith of Linwood, Utah, as Told to His Daughter, Susan."

Biographical Sketch

Keith Smith was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1878. He graduated from Yale University in 1902 and moved to Linwood, Utah, that same year. In 1903, he created the Smith and Larsen Mercantile Company. He married Hellen Alice Garrett in 1905.
