Scope and Contents

The Regnal W. Garff papers (1950s-1999) consist of personal and professional papers resulting from Garff's career as a judge in Utah's Second District Court. Regnal W. Garff was born in 1927 and raised in Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1955 with an LL.B. degree and acquired the Juris Doctor degree in 1967. Materials in the collection include correspondence, legal documentation, memoranda, court policies and procedures, minutes, newsletters, and other papers. A large portion of the collection deals with the history and policies of Utah's Juvenile Courts, which Garff specialized in. The donor's original alphabetical order of the materials has been maintained in the collection.
