Scope and Contents

The Lorin A. and Laura Reese Merrill family biography consists of a bound biography of Lorin Asa Merrill (1876-1919), his wife Laura Reese Merrill (1876-1963) and their descendants, as written and collected by Amy M. Beecher and Asa J. Merrill. It contains copies of family photographs, anecdotes and correspondence. Lorin A. Merrill was a graduate from Utah State University (USU) in Logan, Utah. He was also employed through the Agriculture Extension program of USU. His father was Marriner W. Merrill (1832-1900) who was an Apostle in the Mormon Church. Laura Reese Merrill was a teacher and a librarian. The Merrill Hall Dormitory on the USU campus is named for her.
